The eminent celebration known as National Cat Day is almost here. Yes, Tube Dude invites you to join him in celebrating this October 29th. Here’s a quick blurb on what this commemoration is, and how to celebrate it with hand-crafted tube creations.
National Cat Day
Many folks around America love cats, which includes the lady who started National Cat Day, Colleen Paige, a writer for Lifestyle, who coined the commemoration as an awareness effort. As we’re sure you know, there are way too many cats (and dogs) who find themselves in shelters or euthanized for various reasons. That number is tragically somewhere in the hundreds of thousands.
So, we’ve had National Cat Day since 2005 to remind people of the problem, but also why cats are a delightful part of your lives.
- As semi-nocturnal creatures, they keep us company in the evening or at night.
- They have no less than nine lives.
- They’re a lot like dogs, minus the barking.
- Cats are intelligent, make soothing purring noises, and have a sense of humor (when they knock things off countertops).
- They’re low maintenance.
- 25% of people consider their cat to be their best friend.
The ancient Egyptians even worshipped cats, among other animals. We don’t recommend creating a cult around your pets, but we can celebrate the great gift they are for us and our families. If you don’t already have a pet, consider adopting one from a shelter, or if you’d prefer, we have the next best thing to live cats . . .
Tube Cats?!
Perhaps you knew we would mention something about all the tube cats we have around here. If you’re especially inclined toward felines, then you’ll enjoy making your front yard, home interior, or business place even better with tube cats. These are a few of our best ones:
- Cat (enough said)
- Scaredy Cat (with the classic arched back)
- Stretching Cat (better than “scratching” cat)
- Cat Coat Rack (great for offices)
- Cat 2 Bowls (use him to feed live cats or dogs)
The only thing we don’t have are tube litter boxes. That’s a bridge too far even for Tube Dude.
