The creator of Tube Dude, Scott Gerber, was a yacht builder in Sarasota, Florida. In 2010 when the recession consumed the yachting industry Scott was forced to close his company. This was the worst day of his life. He had to let go of 40 employees who had faithfully worked beside him for more than 15 years. Scott realized he needed something to pull himself out of this dark place. That he needed to offset this horrible feeling and create some happiness.
